Members who bring a
guest March General Meeting (Tuesday, March 18th at the Largo Cultural
Center) will get 1 ticket to a drawing for a weekend at the
Don CeSar Beach Resort & Spa. Tickets will also be awarded at
the meeting to members who brought guests to the recent Open House.
You get an additional 3 tickets for this drawing
if they join the club before the drawing. So remember, 1 ticket for
getting them to accompany you to our monthly meeting, and 3 more tickets
for each one who signs up. What a great way to get a free weekend out!
This is a special drawing!
The winner will be drawn
at this week's meeting,
and MUST be present to win.
New classes have been announced! We're taking
registrations now for several new classes - including one on how to burn
your own CD-ROMS. You can see our
current schedule at:
http://tampa-bay.org/classroom.htm
We need a volunteer to coordinate our classroom
endeavors. Art Crofford offered to get this initiative jump-started.
He's set up the lines of communication, recruited some of the instructors,
and helped to develop the rules by which the classroom operates, but he's
also about to take on some pretty big responsibilities for his Rotary Club
and needs to move on. Please email our secretary, Dale Atchison at
tbcs.office@verizon.net if
you are interested in helping us out.

Diana wrote an article for our Bits & Bytes in May of
2001 called Firewall Basics. You can revisit that
article at:
http://www.tampa-bay.org/BitsAndBytes/Archives/FirewallBasics.htm
The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of
India (ICFAI) has asked for permission to reprint Diana's article in
their forthcoming Journal/Executive Reference Book on Digital
Security. Their publishing wing, ICFAI Books, is
publishing various digest journals, magazines, and executive reference
books.
"We find Firewall Basics by Diana Lawless
quite useful and thus we would like to incorporate it in our forthcoming
Journal..."
Way to go, Diana!
