Give thanks to our troops!
http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html -
You may add your name to a "Thank You" letter that our Department of
Defense is going to send to our military forces at the end of this month
(it's National Military Appreciation Month). It's very
easy and only takes a few seconds of your time. As of this writing,
over 7 million Americans have signed up.

Is the State of Florida selling our
personal information?
Recently, I've received almost 2 dozen emails that make
a variety of claims that the State of Florida is
giving out our personal information (including Social Security
numbers). The official rebuttal to these emails will be found at:
http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/news/pr031403.html
In case you're still skeptical after reading the above,
you can restrict the information they are permitted to make public about
you by filling in a short form at:
http://www.hsmv.state.fl.us/

The "Technology of War"
I'm not interested in promoting war, but as I watch it
being waged, I hear references to all sorts of military technology.
If you're trying to understand how that technology works, several pages at
howstuffworks.com provide relevant background information:

Only a few spots are left for 2 new classes that are
starting this week. Jim Boynton will be rolling out a class
on how to write (burn) CDs this Thursday from 1 to 3 PM. This class
will NOT be hands-on. Jim is going to show both how to install the
hardware and how to operate the software. Class size is limited to
12 people, and 8 have already registered so you better hurry up.
Jan Norman starts another 4-week long class teaching
Windows basics. I highly recommend this class if you are not yet
well-grounded in the many basic functions that Windows provides.
Jan's class starts this Friday from 1 to 3 PM at our Resource Center.
This IS a hands-on class, and can only accommodate 6 people. If
you've ever felt embarrassed before because everyone else seems to
understand computers but you, you need to take Jan's class. She is a
patient and popular instructor.
You may register online for our classes now! You
may also send an email to:
tbcs.office@verizon.net. Other
classes are scheduled for the future. You can see the current
schedule at:
http://tampa-bay.org/classroom.htm
