COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is primarily designed to introduce individuals new to computing or those that have some experience but are uncomfortable with the very basic procedures. The course is based using Windows 7, the current Microsoft operating system. As there will likely be different levels of computer knowledge, all efforts will be made to tailor the course to the average computer experience of the class. Emphasis is placed on the course being presented in an enjoyable and non-pressure environment. Each class will be divided into a short introduction of the material to be covered, followed by a full hands on guided computer session at a work station in our Computer Lab.

TOPICS COVERED WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: The introduction to Windows 7, covering entry level applications and the interface of the operating system between hardware (printers, scanners, monitors) and software (word processors, spread sheets, image editors).

It will also include creating, naming, selecting, opening/closing, saving, moving, copying, deleting and restoring of files and folders. Also discussed will be the customizing and placement of text, as well as the setup of the computer’s; desktop, screen saver, mouse and screen resolution.

Time will be reserved to allow discussion and Q&A of back-up drives, memory, email, internet, pictures, music, videos and most importantly, where to find help and answers to your questions outside of class.
