The Tampa Bay Computer Society is a premier Clearwater training center providing over 50 technology-related learning events each month -- and most of them are free! All of our events take place at our Resource Center at 1510 Barry Rd.

SIGs (Special Interest Groups)

Our Special Interest Groups or SIGs meet either weekly or monthly. SIG leaders volunteer their time to lead sessions in a variety of disciplines: Microsoft products: Windows, Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Expression Web, and Access. Plus Linux, Adobe Photoshop, Digital Video, Genealogy, Visual Basic, Computer Embroidery, Digital Scrapbooking, Social Media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.), and so much more - whew. SIGs are always free, and we invite non-members to drop in and visit during any SIG.

Classes

These are different from SIGs mostly because they have a curriculum and they come to an end. SIGs are ongoing and relatively unstructured -- the SIG leader is free to pick the topic for each meeting.

We charge for most classes at TBCS. We charge $5 per classroom hour. Windows 7, for instance, is an 8-hour class -- it costs $5 x 8 hours = $40. Equivalent training will frequently cost several hundred dollars elsewhere. We are clearly an exceptional bargain when it comes to training.

We are also happy to offer hands-on training in our computer lab.

Seminars
